He is barely 15 years old, small stature, and thin body. He has large eyes on his small face yet empty. I wonder if his eyes actually reflects his empty stomach or his mind full of questions against the society. I am talking about a small delivery boy in a nearby shop of our locality. When we order something on phone he came with enlisted items in heavy bags. He ring the bell and stand quiet. Even he speak in such a low voice that one has to listen carefully.
One day I asked him whether he goes to school or not. He replied with no. I could read in his eyes how embarrassed he was or may be not confident to answer such questions. Then I asked why ? He said he doesn't like to go to school. I told him that if he doesn't want to do this menial work for the whole life then he should go to school. Again he move his head in a lazy yes. When I asked him about his fathers job he told me that he has a job with work related to water proofing.
Few days later I came to know that his father passed away so he is not available for delivery. I felt extremely sad. Then I caught up in my not so busy schedule. A day after when I went to that shop I found him with two heavy bags in his hands to deliver somewhere. One thing I cant forget was that he was carrying the same smile on his face as two days before his fathers death. I wanted to ask him how he managed to come to work and how could he even smile, but I dont. He already had so many questions to ask, to me and to each one of us..
